What Would Kim Do?: I Hate Shopping!

You walk into a department store and all of the clothes looks like one big blob. The blob then becomes a live monster that envelopes you. Before suffocating you hurriedly pick an item from the sales rack because it’s a good price, grab a shirt because you like the color and quickly check out at the register. You run out of the mall yelling, “I hate shopping!” Sound familiar? That is what 90% of my clients say when they come to me for help. Let’s face it, all of us have challenges when it comes to shopping for clothes but there are some things you can do to overcome those difficulties and actually make shopping well, FUN! In this video, you saw a woman who was facing her fears of purchasing pants. We had a great discussion about how knowing your body can really dissipate the angst and anxiety. If you didn’t know my 3C’s System, I want to share it with you so that you can use it tomorrow and start overcoming your shopping woes:

  1. Cut – Make sure you know your body type and what cut and brands flatter your physique (Download my new and improved Body Type Booklet on my site to learn what you are.)
  2. Color – Discover what colors enhance your skin tone. Colors can help you look more attractive, younger, taller, slimmer and healthier. It can also have a profound effect on the way you feel.
  3. Confidence – Be aware of how certain clothes make you feel. Some outfits might deplete your confidence while others empower you. Find out what it is about those “confident” clothes (i.e. the fabric, color, cut, etc.) that makes you feel that you can meet anyone and take on the great challenge with ease throughout your day.

Once you learn what clothes look good on you, you will have more fun in the stores and shop with efficiency. Check out this post to learn more about how to deal with the top 4 mistakes women make in a store.
